As part of our continuous improvement process, Beckett is making changes to the 7600P sensor used in the 2N1R Replaceable Sensor/Well.
The latest design of the sensor will provide improved Low Water Cutoff (LWCO) performance. The new LWCO design is more sensitive and will provide reliable LWCO operation in difficult applications. At the same time, the new design will be more resistant to the accumulation of deposits on the sensor well, again improving the performance of the LWCO. The new sensor and well will carry a 5 year warranty.
As part of the change, we will begin marking a color code on the sensors to ensure the sensor is inserted correctly for each different well size. Every new sensor will have four small marks on the sensor or lead wires. The marks correspond to the four different well lengths. In the future, the open end of each well will be marked with the color corresponding to the correct color mark on the sensor. Each mark will line up with the end of the well of the corresponding color. It is important to make sure the sensor is inserted all the way into the well. If the sensor is not inserted all the way into the well, the control may lockout on a LWCO error.
The colors used will be Orange, Pink, White and Green. The colors were chosen for visibility and contrast.
The color coding marks make an easy way to identify the latest sensor design. Only this latest design has the color codes and a Revision Designation of “D” on the label. 7600P devices with Revision Designations prior to “D” can be returned under warranty.
Remember the green wire must be grounded properly for the LWCO to operate.
The revision designation for the new sensors will be “D”. We will also be using a silver dot on the sensor label next to the zip code to make it easy to identify as the latest design.
